Letter From The Editor
The "Never Get Burned Again" Issue
At an IBD workshop in Chicago last month, I met a man who had a huge loss in the 2000 DOTCOM crash. But he learned his lesson, started following IBD's sell rules, and he escaped 2008 with the gains he made in the previous bull market safely intact.

After the 2008 market, many people now find themselves in the same situation that man was in nine years ago. And as his example shows, the key to future success is to learn from past mistakes.

That's why this month is the "Never Get Burned Again" issue.  We'll discuss how you should think about losses, how to manage your mutual funds, and how to keep an eye on the stocks you own.

If you had some losses recently, remember this: The market will give you many opportunities to recoup your losses and generate new profits. And the rules outlined here will show you how to hold on to them.
