Footprints Feedback
We've been hearing anecdotally that some users are browsing Xanga less because of Footprints.
Personally, I do browse a bit less because I know people will see my footprints... but I also browse more, b/c sometimes I surf my Footprints and click back to other people. Net net, my browsing is probably about the same?
But in talking to Xangans, we're hearing the same story from a number of people:
- People are browsing other people's sites less...
- But they love seeing who is visiting their site!
Overall though, they're visiting less pages since we launched Footprints doh.
Two quick questions:
1) Do you browse less because of you know people can see your Footprints? 2) Do you have your settings set to browse anonymously, or to Footprints Lock?
Please let us know! We'd love to get a better sense for how people are using Footprints... Posted 5/27/2009 at 12:32 AM - 532 eprops - 255 comments

Cultural Theft
Someone brought to my attention about some upcoming movie called The Last Airbender, which is based off some popular kids cartoon on Nickelodean. It's supposed to be about some shaolin monk-looking kid going on some adventure with 2 eskimo pals which involve fighting and magic casting. There is an Asian theme that runs throughout the show. They have Asian clothes, Asian architecture, Asian writing, Asian music, and Asian-sounding names. But guess what, there is not a single Asian in the cast! It walks looks like a duck, walks like a duck, qucks like a duck, but surprise, it's an elephant!? Posted 5/27/2009 at 12:59 PM - add eprops - add comments
The Tyranny of The Majority
The California Supreme Court upheld the ban on gay marriage today. It shouldn't come as a shocker since San Francisco's mayor requested the court's decision be delayed for a week and the speculation was it was due to the original announcement date falling on the anniversary of the White Knight Riots As a Christian, I don't subscribe to or approve of the gay lifestyle as it is against my religion. That said, I see big problems with being able to vote away the rights of certain groups.Posted 5/27/2009 at 1:29 PM - add eprops - add comments
Application For Permission To Date My Daughter
So a while ago I read this on someone else's site a while ago, and I wanted to add my own commentary to it. Application for Permission to Date My Daughter: Note: This application will be incomplete and rejected unless accompanied by a complete financial statement, job history, lineage, and current medical report from your doctor.Posted 5/27/2009 at 1:59 PM - add eprops - add comments
The Validity of Proposition 8
Alright guys, settle in for a long(ish) one. DISCLAIMER: As a guy who just so happens to be a homo, I absolutely believe that same-sex couples should be allowed to get married. It absolutely blows my mind that the people of California voted to "Eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry." Who votes to eliminate rights? But we'll come back to that.Posted 5/27/2009 at 8:45 PM - add eprops - add comments

Fairness For Fathers... Does Such a Thing Exist?
Today I read what one of my online friends has to deal with . He married young, had a daughter, got divorced and lost all rights to his daughter. The ex wife, the child's mother got full custody and the right to go, and do, whatever she wants. He has a penis, he is scum. Just as I am, or any father, in the eyes of the courts.
