Hey David,

You mentioned your friend who has a knack for looking at new ventures and hooking them up with the right people.  I will describe what we're looking for and if you don't mind introducing me to her, I'd appreciate it.

As you know, I'm one of the developers on Jabbify.  Jabbify is a real time chat client for web pages, as well as a developer service that lets you build your own chat client or real time functionality.  We've got over 1500 domains using the service, so I know this is something that provides value.  Your site and other similar ones have had a lot of success retaining visitors and gaining subscribers because of the conversations you have with Jabbify.

That being said, we're currently debating where to take Jabbify next.  We've built the core of Jabbify to be quite flexible, and we're looking into several new directions:
  • 1 to 1 chat: the ability for users to private message other users
  • Live sales chat: the ability for admins to directly interact with site visitors
  • More customizeability: providing free branding for paying Jabbify customers
  • Jabber chat rooms: the ability for users to use IM clients to chat with your web page
There are a lot of signs that the web is moving to be much more "real time", but its very hard to develop "real time" applications like chat.  Thats why we feel Jabbify is in a unique position.  My dilemma is I'm not sure where we'd be providing the most value.  I'm trying to do some research by contacting people in different website genres.  Maybe your friend knows people who might help me solve this problem.  I'm always available to chat on the phone.

Thanks,
Brian Moschel
