Good morning Dear Traders,
I am going to depart from my normal commentary this week. I know I owe you Part 2 of "What is Technical Trading" and I promise that I will have that for you next week. This week I want to talk about something very important. Last Thursday, I flew home from our Vegas office late in order that I could make it in time on Friday for my Grandson's Graduation. It was amazing! 80 NEW Graduates, ready to take on the world! Of course being a technical analyst, I couldn't help but notice that NOW I understand why women live longer than men. In my Grandson's class I counted (technical analysis at work here) and the boys were outnumbered 3 to 1! I won't go into those odds any further.
Over 500 people filled the event center. They played the normal graduate marching song as the graduates marched in. All of the teachers spoke briefly and they handed out diplomas. We had cake and refreshments after. This was better than ANY of my graduations. They said CONGRATULATIONS to the CLASS OF 2009! I was so proud and shed a few tears. Of course my son, Sean's father was with us as was Angel and other family members.
Now that Sean has graduated from PRE SCHOOL! LOL He is ready to embark on his NEXT 13 years of mandatory education. A BMOC now. (Big man on campus) What I WISH I could tell him now. You have all heard of the book "All I Ever Learned, I Learned in Kindergarten". How about "All you NEED to KNOW is "The Pristine Method" and we can save the $100,000 College fund part and just open up a trading account. I brought my laptop and projector but the teachers wouldn't let me teach TPM 1 even though I knew if I started them early, we had a good chance of huge results.
And that is what I want to talk about today. You see, it won't be very long before I can teach Sean how to read candle language. The curriculum I would like to put him in would be TPM 1 followed by TPM 2 with Greg Capra our founder, followed by our new Live Trading Dynamics course, perhaps some electives in Gap Trading with Avery Meizner, Options Trading with Frank Kneipher and some skill building in the Pristine Labs with Simon Brad.
Where could he get a better education with such a fine group of professional instructors that I know personally and have worked with for years? The COST? "Priceless" You have no idea how I wish I could tell him what "Grandpa" knows NOW! How the book that I worked from was called, "All I Ever Needed to Know about Trading and Investing, I learned from Greg Capra and The Pristine Method".
You see, as adults, we often come to trading and investing with very large pre conceived notions of how things SHOULD work. And often we get in our own way to do what we know to be technically correct so we can benefit financially. It's the emotional aspect and lack of discipline that always hurts us. This NEW TO START class of 2022 (High School) will have opportunities that we don't even know yet what will exist. They will most likely live well into their 100's. The opportunity of trading our own accounts will be here forever. Fortunately I have already taught my older son who turned 30 also this weekend, how to trade and he will be able to teach his son who will teach his son and so forth.
Most of the students that I have worked with know that I rarely trade on Fridays, but this last Friday I needed to make some adjustments to my default settings and while doing so I happened upon PETM, a pattern was setting up nicely on 2 time frames and because this was in my plan, I had to take this trade. Students of the Pristine Method will easily see these patterns within the first 45 minutes of the morning and even though I had not expected to take this trade, I was done by about 10:15 ET.
As I always do after making a relatively nice amount of money in such a short time, I can't help but shake my head in amazement and marvel at the skills I have developed that you too can master. I took a smaller than normal lot size, but what if even it were $500 on one trade which is $125,000 per year or $1,000 which is $250,000 per year? For less than 30 minutes of work? It doesn't seem fair. But as we all know, Sean must go through the required curriculum to grow as he should and I hope that I can be a good role model for him and show him his opportunities will be unlimited if he wishes to pursue a trading career. My older son has already learned successfully how to swing trade properly and soon I will be teaching him the intraday side to trade for income and I can't wait! Please know each of you have the same opportunities and potential as anyone else.
Yes, the markets powered up for 9 weeks in a row and are now resting a bit. We will know soon if this last 2 month rally will continue upward bound and it will depend largely on the quality of the pull back or consolidation that will take place over the next days and weeks to come. So I want to poise this question to you? Are you LIVING TO TRADE? OR are you TRADING TO LIVE! The market will always provide wealth and income to those that know how to create the proper trading and investing plan. But TIME is the ONLY THING we can't buy or get back again. I would suggest that family and friends are the most important part of our lives and if we are TRADING TO LIVE, we can create the ability to have life style along with the financial security that is possible.
